Jubilee's Beliefs

Inner Town Ministries

Statement of Faith

Jubilee Inner-Town Ministries is an Inter-denominational organization. We do not exist to further the distinct beliefs of any one Christian denomination or movement. However, we do recognize that there are certain beliefs that identify us as “evangelical,” “orthodox,” or “historically Christian.” These points of belief are known as “essentials.” These essentials cross denominational lines within Christianity, but separate us from those who hold to other religions or fringe deviations of Christianity.

What does Jubilee Inner-Town Ministries believe?

We believe in the Bible, the Old and New Testaments. It’s human authors were inspired by God and moved along by His Spirit to write precisely what they wrote - every word and to the very word. Therefore, the Bible is the Word of God and our authority in all matters of life. In its original manuscripts, it contains no errors.

We believe in the Trinity. This means that there is one God, but He exists in three persons – God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. The three persons of the Trinity worked (and are working) harmoniously together to create the heavens and the earth, rule over creation, and redeem creation. We understand that how the Trinity works is beyond the ability of the human mind to fully understand.

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. This means that Jesus, as God’s Son, is Himself fully God. He is also fully human. He was born to a virgin. He died, but rose again physically. He is now seated at the right hand of God the Father in Heaven to represent us before God. He will come again to earth some day.

We believe that God has sent His Holy Spirit to have a special role in the world today. He reveals sin to the hearts of those who do not yet know Jesus as their Savior. He regenerates (gives new life to) those who come to faith in Jesus. He baptizes them, making them part of Christ’s body. He seals all true believers and lives within them.

We believe Satan, the devil, is a real spirit with a real personality. He is not simply a “force” or evil itself. He rules over those who have not put their faith in Jesus Christ.

We believe that mankind is fallen and separated from God from birth. This is because, through Adam, we have all rebelled against God and are in a state of ungodly selfishness and pride, or “sin.” Therefore, we need God to give us a new life (regeneration) and a new standing before God (justification).

We believe that Jesus provided the answer to our situation through His death on the cross and His resurrection. His death on the cross paid the debt for our sin we could never pay, and His resurrection secured His victory over sin and death. We receive the benefits of what Jesus did and are “saved” by trusting in Him rather than in our own merit, works, or abilities.

We believe that all human beings will be raised from the dead during the last days, when God brings this world as it is now to an end. Those who have received Jesus as their Savior will be raised to a wonderful eternity with God in Heaven. Those who lived this life separated from God, will remain so. They will be raised to everlasting punishment in Hell.

We believe that the Church is made up of all people who have come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. We function as His Body, are bound together by the Holy Spirit, and cannot truly be divided. Right now, Jesus is praying for us in Heaven and He will come again for us someday and make us His bride.

We believe Jesus gave His Church the responsibility of sharing His message of forgiveness with those in every people group across the globe. We are to baptize them, teach them to obey the things that Jesus commanded, and help them grow as true followers, or “disciples,” of Jesus.

We believe that God’s desire for the life of every believer is to walk in deep relationship with Him, grow them to become more like Him in character, give them victory over sin in their lives, and use them in this life in a way that will matter forever. He has a loving reason when we experience hardships and suffering in this life. He does not promise health, wealth, or comfort, but has provided hope, healing, and strength to live this life.
